A quick shot taken in Northumberland, highlighting the minimalistic landscape around Holy Island

I liked shot because of the contrast between the retro and mechanical tractor and the natural beach. It looks so desolate and cold, abandoned on the empty beach stretching off into the distance. Unsurprisingly this cold-looking image was taken in the north, Northumberland to be exact.

I shot this panorama whilst visiting Portsmouth during golden hour [the half an hour either side of sunset]. It was comprised of 15 shots all taken with manual settings then edited in Lightroom and compiled together in Photoshop. You can also view them at a higher quality on Flickr

Taken on a cold walk in the Peak District, this week’s shot is of a farmhouse in the frozen north. To reflect the temperature, I edited it cooler, reflecting the empty house in the bleak surroundings.
