This is a short promotional piece for Nasu Enzuru Theatre Company, produced for their performance of Charles Dickens’ ‘The Haunting’. It looks to encapsulate the whole atmosphere of the night’s entertainment – the genteel surroundings, the music performances, refreshments and the show itself, with audience reviews.
The introductory shots are by means of subliminal exposition – they set the scene, giving some geography to the shots, furthered by the setting up clips. Then as the music builds, the pre-show entertainment is introduced, transitioning into the the audience taking their seats, making the viewer become part of the audience of the, ducking away for the short interviews to commentate the action. Closing in a cyclical structure with the ending bows and packing down, teamed with the same music as was used in the introduction.
The track used is Grace Sarah’s new song, Reflections, check it out, she is an amazing artist and was playing before the show.
In comparison, below is the video I produced from the last show we did there, released a year and a day ago. I feel I have come a long way since then.
